For more than 25 years, Wassco Corporation has produced and distributed Custom Medals, Lapel Pins, Challenge Coins and Ornamental Castings across the globe. In the months that follow, via our blogs, we will tell some of the stories of our production over the years. Please know that for every story we bring you, we’ve had 100s of other customers that love their medals, lapel pins and coins! Many of our biggest and very coolest projects are ones we can’t even talk about. We did the production but did it on the wholesale end and not for the final customer. NASA
This is a good example of capability on a very cool coin. This was the retirement coin for the Space Shuttle. It is a 2-sided, soft enamel fill, with 3-D tooling for the Space Shuttle. Additionally, the NASA logo and USA Flag are pad printed on the wings of the Space Shuttle.
Ornamental Casting – Corners / Center Dial Plate
For many years, we produced the Ornamental Castings, Corners, and Dial Center Pieces for high-end Grandfather Clocks for companies like Howard Miller, Ridgeway, and Sligh. Most grandfather clocks seem to use embossed accents on the dial face. This lowers the cost, but the look is noticeably different. Next time you see a grandfather clock with actual cast corners and a center dial plate, snap a picture and send it to us. We’ll let you know if we produce it!
BOK Center – Tulsa, OK
The highly regarded BOK Center in Tulsa, OK, had a unique request. Take their “meatball” logo and make Aisle Markers for the arena. No problem! The black dots represent the holes we placed in the casting to allow for them to be attached to the appropriate rows. We produced and delivered on schedule and now the more than 800,000 visitors per year are directed to their seats while unknowingly looking at another of our Custom Castings.
